As few as ten years ago, you might not have heard the phrase: “actuarial model governance.” Now, many mid-to-large insurance companies have a formal program. How did we get here so fast?

In this ACTEX Webinar, we’ll trace the progression of model governance from banking regulation to model validation best practices. We’ll see how the actuarial guidance has evolved to focus on formal governance programs.

Based on available guidance, we’ll review and summarize industry best practices, and use this information to discuss the most practical and efficient ways to implement, maintain and improve model governance best practices at your company.

Please participate in this brief three-question survey: Click HERE

Learning Objectives:

  • Review the primary factors that led to the current climate of actuarial model governance.
  • Recognize the progression of guidance from model validation to model governance.
  • Develop common themes from available industry guidance and practice notes.
  • Determine how to effectively interpret available guidance and put it in to practice.
  • Discover ways to implement, maintain, and improve, a model governance program.

Who Should Attend This Webinar?

Actuaries and insurance professionals who develop, run, or use actuarial models, and anyone who wants to learn more about why model governance exists, and what the actuarial guidelines say about it should attend this webinar. Also, those seeking to understand best practices and the most efficient way to implement and maintain a model governance program should attend.
